Objective: Use found objects to emphasize repetition in a work of art.
Create an aesthetically pleasing composition for a "fine art" photograph by utilizing repetition. This project is Inspired by the work of contemporary photographer Emily Blincoe.
Gather objects of similar color or texture inside your home or outside in your yard. If you are uninspired by the subject matter at home, try going for a walk around your neighborhood or venture out to a park or a beach.
Choose a background that "works" aesthetically with your objects. Notice how Emily uses monochromatic or analogous color schemes for more neutral, organic feeling. Or you can use complimentary colors to enhance the vibrancy of the objects. (A good example of complimentary colors is seen at the bottom of this gallery: the pink and red flowers on the green background).
Arrange your objects in a well-lit area. Create a pattern or repeat randomly. Arrange the objects in a square format (as seen in most below), or a long rectangle.
Crop and edit (if necessary). Try to make your photograph look as professional as you can!
