For this work of art you will need to find an image (or multiple images) from a magazine, newspaper, or even an old book (if you are allowed to dismantle it!) You can also PRINT out a specific image or image(s) if you have access to a printer.
Once you have the image(s), decide on your layout. Where will the image(s) be placed on the page? Once you are satisfied with your layout, glue your images down with glue or glue stick.
Create freeform designs that work well with the shape of the image(s) you have traced on your page.
Fill shapes with zentangle patterns and designs. Try to balance the darker areas with the lighter areas. (For anyone craving color, go for it! You can mix color into this, do it entirely in colored pencils, or keep it all black and white).
Notice in the examples below that you can create zentangle patterns OVER parts of the image.
Option 2: Draw part of a person, animal or object... and create the look and feel of collage Level - SUPER ADVANCED
For this work of art you can create the feel of collage by creating a realistic drawing of something or someone. Have the realistic subject appear "cut-out". Materials are open. You may use pencil, pen, a combination, or anything else you enjoy working in. Below are a few black & white samples created in pencil and sharpie marker. (You may need more time for this one... email me to discuss!)
